Saitama’s sake brewery Koyama Honke Shuzo, one of Japan’s top 20 large sake breweries will bring back the traditional and iconic brand “Tokyo Zakari”
After coming up with an agreement with the only sake brewery that existed within Tokyo’s 23 wards – Koyama Shuzo.
There are 10 sake breweries in Tokyo today. Koyama Brewery was the only one that existed within Tokyo’s 23 wards. Based on the press release upon Koyama’s closure, the sake brands will be inherited by Koyama Honke Sake brewery relatives of the Koyama brewery owners. Koyama Shuzo closed down in February 2018 after 140 years of history behind but Tokyo Zakari has now its revival and the 1st volume of the iconic brand is out now for sale. The label design incorporates elements of Edo pattern finished in a stylish motif.
A Junmai Ginjo using 100% Yamada Nishiki from Hyogo, while it has a firm taste of rice, it is light and easy to drink, just like in the old days.
