A new 14 years barrel-aged barley (mugi) shochu as part of collaborative series with popular manga Hana no Keiji.

The label’s motif represents Keiji Maeda from Hana no Keiji, a period manga authored by Tetsuo Hara, which was serialized in the Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1990 to 1993.

It is an adaptation of the novel Ichi-Mu-An Fūryūki by Keiichiro Ryu and serves as a fictionalized account of the life of Keiji Maeda, a samurai who made a name for himself of the Sengoku period through early Edo period.

the harmony of sweet scents of vanilla pods are noticeable from the barrel-aging process and can be best enjoyed with soda water.

A free-spirited warrior who lives by his own will is Maeda Keiji portrayed on the manga series, just like the reflection of a shining Spirit expressed in an authentic shochu. That’s what Den-en Shuzo – distillery behind the project – must have been thinking a barrelled barley shochu would be the most appropriate to bring this character to life in shape of shochu.
