Saijo Matsuri 2021 – Hiroshima
October 16, 2021 - October 17, 2021

Overview of sake festival
Since 1990 (Heisei 2), the sake festival has been held every year as a citizen’s festival on the south side of JR Saijo Station. As a festival where people of all ages, men and women of all ages, and those who don’t drink alcohol can enjoy various cultural activities related to alcohol, and play a part in fostering local culture and revitalizing the region, which bears the name of the sake capital.
The Sake Hiroba, which represents the Sake Festival, started in 1992. The first round had 629 stocks.
It was 2013 (Heisei 24) that exceeded 1000 stocks. After that, it has achieved 1,000 brands for four consecutive years, and has recorded a record high of 1025 brands at the 2015 Sake Festival. That income supports the whole.
The origin of the sake festival
The “Sake Festival” is a combination of the “Minna no Matsuri” that started in 1979 and the “Saijo Sake Festival” that the Saijo Sake Brewing Association has been running since around 1972 (Showa 47).
In addition to the purpose of promoting the citizen harmony and community awareness of the “Minna no Matsuri”, we also announce that there is a fun festival with sake as a symbol throughout the country and play a part in promoting tourism by increasing the number of exchanged people.
The premise is the support and support of citizens. We have an executive committee member from the government and various groups in the city, and we receive the support of many volunteers such as adults, university students, junior and senior high school students.
